Dr. Andreas Polemitis - Chairman

Dr. Polemitis is a co-founder of the University of Nicosia, the leading university in Cyprus. He has been responsible for academic quality, program development, accreditation and general management at the University of Nicosia and its predecessor institutions since 1985, first as Academic Dean and currently as Senior Vice Rector. He previously worked as Principal Planner for the Planning Agency of the State of Indiana.    

Dr. Polemitis holds a D.B.A. from Indiana University, an honorary Doctorate from the University of Indianapolis and an M.B.A., B.B.A. and B.A. (Economics) from the American University of Beirut.


Mr. Antonis Polemitis - Managing Director

Mr. Polemitis is the managing director of Ledra Capital and has lead investment and operational responsibility at the firm.

He was previously a partner in the private equity practice of Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where he consulted to private equity firms and merchant banks, and at ACG, a multi-billion dollar private investment fund, where he led the business process outsourcing and higher education practice. Over the course of his career, he has been a principal or advisor for transactions in the United States, Europe, Latin America and India, ranging from multi-billion dollar industrial buyouts to early stage venture capital.

Mr. Polemitis holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he graduated with highest distinction as a Baker Scholar, and a B.S. in from Indiana University in Accounting, Computer Information Systems and International Studies where he graduated with highest distinction as a Wells and Chancellor's Scholar.  


Dr. Olga Polemitou - Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Polemitou has extensive experience in strategic financial management. Dr. Polemitou has held senior executive positions with Fortune 500 companies in the energy and telecommunications industries where she was responsible for building organizations, leading the finance and internal audit functions, assessing risk to company operations, developing mitigation strategies and overseeing the P&L process.  She is the founder of Aristion, Inc., a firm that provides outsourced accounting services to middle market companies 

Dr. Polemitou is responsible for delivering finance, accounting and risk management services within the Ledra group of companies.

Dr. Polemitou holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University and a B.A. (Honors) from the University of London.

Mr. Nicolas Martin

Mr. Martin is a co-founder of Turtle Bay Capital. Mr. Martin was portfolio manager with Ashmore where he led private equity/debt transactions in emerging markets. Previously, he was with Mercer Management Consulting and Goldman Sachs, and is a former officer in the French Navy. Mr. Martin holds a M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a M.S. in electrical engineering from Supélec in Paris. Mr. Martin is a CFA Charterholder.


Mr. Daniel Pianko

Mr. Pianko is a founding Managing Director of University Ventures. Prior to University Ventures, Daniel was an investor in and advisor to education companies in their strategic and development initiatives. With over ten years of experience in the education industry, Daniel has built a reputation as a trusted advisor and educational entrepreneur who honors the traditions and values of higher education.

Daniel began his career as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs. At Goldman, Daniel advised on over a billion dollars of transactions including mergers and equity financings. He entered the education industry as Director of Strategy and Planning at LearnNow, a high growth charter school company that was acquired by Edison Schools.

Since his initial work with charter schools, Daniel has served as the lead operating executive of a 1,200 student university with multiple campuses, on the board of one of the largest distributors of K-12 technology products, and as the lead analyst of an education-focused hedge fund. Currently, Daniel sits on the board of Altius Education Inc. Mr. Pianko is a frequent speaker at industry events and conventions and his article "Venture Capital: Looking Outside the Education Sector" was recently published as part of an American Enterprise Institute series by Harvard University Press.

Mr. Pianko graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University and received a M.B.A. and M.A. in Education from Stanford University, where he chaired Stanford's Business of Education Conference.


Dr. Christos Vlachos

Dr. Vlachos is CFO and and Co-founder of Globaltraining. 

He has served on the Boards of various public companies listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange including Sharelink Financial Services, Logicom and White Knight Holdings and is the author of the Best Seller “International Financial Reporting Standards” (in the Greek Language).

Dr. Vlachos began his career in the audit practice at PwC.  

He holds Ph.D. in Accounting from Middlesex University and an M.B.A. from Edinburgh Business School (Heriot-Watt University).


Mr. Odysseas Christodoulou

Mr. Christodoulou is Co-founder and CEO of Globaltraining.   He is responsible for all professional education programs of the group and campus development in Greece and Romania.

He has served on the Boards of several banking and financial firms.  Mr. Christodoulou began his career in the audit practice at Coopers & Lybrand.  


Mr. Alexandru Lapusan

Mr. Lapusan is Co-founder and CEO of Zitec. a software development firm based in Romania and founded in 2003.   He has been deeply involved in the startup phase of several Ledra Capital firms as a co-investor or advisor.

In 2006, Mr. Kitsios joined Global Semesters as Director of Marketing and was also actively involved in online design matters across the group. He has extensive knowledge in user interface design and emerging technologies in the field of online information delivery.

Mr. Kitsios previously worked for six years in Cyprus at Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO, at the posts of Creative Director and Account Manager respectively, servicing several high-profile clients such as PEPSI, Carrefour, BAT, Ford, BP, KFC, and others.

Mr. Kitsios studied Visual Communication on a Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Kansas, followed by an M.B.A. in Marketing and International Business, with emphasis on online marketing. He was lecturer at the University of Kansas in Graphic Design.
